Position: Bodyshop Advisor/Trainee Estimator

Here at Halliwell Jones (Chester) Ltd we have an exciting opportunity for a Bodyshop Advisor/Trainee Estimator. The position is located at our Chester Centre which is a fantastic facility consisting of an impressive, recently modernised Aftersales Centre and Bodyshop and BMW and MINI Sales. Reporting to the Bodyshop Manager, the main objectives of the post are to:

  • To deal with customer requirements for vehicle repair in an efficient and courteous manner to ensure the highest standard of customer service.
  • To confirm method of payment with customer.
  • To organise the loading of the Bodyshop in an efficient manner to ensure efficient utilisation of workshop capacity and available staff, this in conjunction with workshop control.
  • To carry out customer follow-up and prospecting activities to maintain and build the volume of work within the Bodyshop.
  • To build relationships with engineers and insurance companies
  • To carry out accurate and branded estimates in a professional manner and adhere to strict time guidelines.
  • Invoicing and allocation of work to ensure department meets profit and turnover targets.
  • Organise, maintain and control the Bodyshop courtesy car fleet.


Essential criteria for the position includes:

Knowledge of Drive invoicing

Excellent customer service and organisation skills

  • Experience of cash credit control
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Proven excellent customer service skills and likes to work with people.
  • An outstanding attitude and passion for customer service
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • An enthusiastic, dynamic and team orientated personality
  • Willingness to learn and develop, and keep up-to-date with complex/ technical/product information.
