BMW 330e Saloon.

The BMW 3 Series has always been a driver’s car; the incorporation of plug-in hybrid technology does nothing to diminish this status. A 184hp four-cylinder petrol and an 88hp electrical motor channel 248hp via an eight-speed automatic gearbox to the rear wheels, giving 0-62mph in 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 140mph (where permitted). Near-perfect weight distribution between front and rear axles 49/51% biased to the rear) ensures responsive handling and a dynamic drive, gearshift paddles give ultimate control over the automatic gearbox.

Inside, the BMW 330e gives only a few clues as to its capabilities -  there’s ‘eDrive’ lettering on the rear of the vehicle and on the door sill finisher, and the dashboard has dedicated instrumentation for charge level and driving mode. Beyond this, BMW Navigation, a DAB radio, BMW Online and Teleservices, Real Time Traffic Information, automatic air conditioning, cruise control and front and rear park distance control come as standard, while three higher trim levels cater for those that like a touch more individuality.
