Project Blitz.
The King's School Chester is taking innovation to the next level in the prestigious F1 in Schools UK competition, partnering with Halliwell Jones BMW.
This collaboration provides students with hands-on experience across design, manufacturing, branding, and project management – key components that drive both educational excellence and future career success.
F1 in Schools UK challenges students to merge STEM skills with creativity as they design and manufacture a miniature F1 car. Competing on both performance and aesthetics, the event mirrors the real-world dynamics of Formula 1 racing. Participants gain invaluable insights into engineering, design, and business, making it a perfect platform for budding innovators.

Student Roles and Responsibilities
At The King's School Chester, the student team has divided roles to maximize their collective talent:
- Avy - Project Manager: Oversees the entire project, ensuring seamless coordination and timely progress.
- Jacob - Sponsorships: Plan and prepare a business plan, develop a budget and raise sponsorship. Teams are encouraged to collaborate with industry and create business links including the key partnership with Halliwell Jones BMW.
- Tony - Portfolio: Manages project documentation and presentation, highlighting the team’s achievements for the event.
- Harry - Marketing: Drives the branding and promotional strategies that elevate the team’s public presence.
These roles reflect the diverse skills required to run a successful project in the high-stakes environment of F1 in Schools.

The sponsorship not only offers financial backing but also includes branding opportunities. After a detailed meeting with the Project Blitz Team, they identified the ideal placements for the Halliwell Jones BMW branding on the miniature F1 car.
After the meeting, we helped supply team shirts and caps—elements that enhance both team identity and market presence.
The team is currently competing in the regional event. Success here will pave the way for the National event, eventually leading them to face international competitors at the Aramco F1 in School World Finals. This progression underscores the ambition and potential of the team, positioning them as future leaders in innovation and STEM education.
The partnership between The King's School Chester and Halliwell Jones BMW highlights a forward-thinking approach to education and collaboration. By engaging in real-world projects like F1 in Schools UK, students are not only honing their technical and managerial skills but also building a network of industry connections.
We extend our best wishes to the team as they race toward success at the national and international levels.
