BMW 1 Series

The BMW 120 produces 170 hp and 280 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 7.8 seconds. The 170 hp comes from a mild-hybrid setup combining a 115 kW petrol engine with a 15 kW electric motor.

The BMW 1 Series has a 380-litre boot, extending to 1,200 litres with the rear seats folded down. It's a five-door, five-seat car.

The range uses a 170 hp mild-hybrid petrol engine with a 7-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox. The 120 is front-wheel drive; the 123 xDrive and M135 xDrive both add BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

The Sport (from £32,640) is the well-equipped entry model. The M Sport (from £33,645) adds M Sport styling and sportier cabin and exterior details. The M135 xDrive (from £43,740) is the performance flagship with 300 hp, all-wheel drive and 0–62 mph in 4.9 seconds.

The 120 M Sport returns a combined 50.4–52.3 mpg (WLTP) with CO2 emissions of 121–127 g/km, helped by 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.

The range-topping M135 xDrive is the fastest, with a 300 hp engine, all-wheel drive and a 0–62 mph time of 4.9 seconds. It also gets the M Sport Braking System and Adaptive M Suspension as standard.
