When do I need to MOT my MINI?

Your MINI vehicle needs an MOT test three years after its registration and each year after that. It’s required by law to ensure that your car meets safety requirements as well as environmental standards, so you can keep driving happy. By having your MOT carried out by Halliwell Jones, we’ll give you the official VT20 certificate when your MINI passes its MOT. Not sure when your MOT is due? Just contact your local Halliwell Jones MINI Centre today.

What is MINI MOT Protect?

MOT Protect is in addition to your MINI’s existing three years unlimited mileage warranty and breakdown cover. It means that when your car’s MOT falls due you can be confident it will pass without the need to pay for any repairs. The scheme covers electrical and lighting equipment, steering and suspension components and many braking system components. And the good news? If your Halliwell Jones MINI is under three years old – MINI MOT Protect is now standard.

Seat belt components and mountings, fuel systems and corrosion damage not resulting from impact damage, are included in the cover and replaced at no cost to the owner should they be faulty (subject to terms and conditions). Please speak to the the service team at your local Centre for further information.

*MOT Protect is applicable only for the first MOT on a new vehicle. Cost of MOT test or re-test, wheels, tyres, windscreen, brake pads and discs, modified/non MINI components, failure as a result of neglect and MOT advisories are not covered by MOT Protect. Repairs must be carried out by a MINI Approved Retailer within 30 days of the MOT inspection failure.
