The BMWi brand continues to expand with the launch of the new BMW iX3. This exciting new model represents BMW’s commitment to electrified mobility and deliver the brands first pure electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). The UK market is set to receive the Premier Edition in 2021 which will feature the latest 5th Generation eDrive technology. This version of the iX3 will have an approximate all- electric range of up to 270 miles on a single charge*.

UNIQUE DETAILS

The iX3 retains the familiar X model genes whilst offering a new driving feel. Striking the perfect blend between BMWi and BMW X the UK-specific premier edition will have a naturally athletic aesthetic comparable with it combustion engine counterparts. Key design elements will differentiate the appearance of the iX3 including a new mesh-like structure for the kidney grille, Blue accent trims that are familiar from other BMWi models and unique aero wheels. The new 20” wheel design offers 5% less drag than previous BMW wheels whilst also being 15% lighter, this ensures maximum efficiency from the powertrain. The driving sounds are also unique, developed in collaboration with Hans Zimmer the BMW IconicSounds enrich the driving experience with a futuristic soundtrack.


A NEW ERA OF eDRIVE

One of the most important updates the BMW iX3 brings is the new 5th Generation BMW eDrive technology, this is also what makes the first-ever BMW electric SAV so exciting. The electric motor, electronic systems and transmission are now combined into one central unit, this reduces space and importantly weight. The result of these updates is an eDrive system that offers much better EfficientDynamics. In short the power to weight ratio is greatly improved (by up to 30%) and a repositioned battery results in greater interior space.
