This year’s Grand Pride of Sefton Awards proved to be an emotional and inspiring night, celebrating remarkable local heroes who make a real difference in the community. With over 2,000 nominations submitted the event recognised extraordinary acts of courage, compassion, and community spirit.
As the sponsor of the Charity Champion Award, Halliwell Jones Kia Southport were honoured to present this prestigious award which recognises incredible contributions to charitable work in the area. Lily and Lauren Williams were announced as the winners, which was presented by Marc Goodwin, General Sales Manager at Halliwell Jones Kia Southport, who said
“It’s amazing to be part of this fantastic event. To be able to recognise and celebrate individuals and organisations who make a real difference in the community is truly inspiring. A massive congratulations to all the nominees who have been recognised at the awards, and Lily & Lauren on winning this award.”
In total 13 awards were presented on the evening, but the poignant moment of the evening came during the presentation of the main award, Pride of Sefton award, which was dedicated to the memory of Elsie Dot Stancombe age 7, Bebe King age 6, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar age 9, who tragically lost their lives during the horrific incident that took place in Southport on 29 July 2024. Family members of the victims took to the stage and spoke bravely about how their legacy will live on, and the ongoing work being done to bring about positive change in Southport.
The evening was filled with both joy and tears, but provided a powerful reminder of the spirit, strength, and unity within the Sefton community. Halliwell Jones Kia Southport is honoured to be part of this memorable evening which recognises individuals and organisations that go above and beyond in the local community.
