Two versions are expected: a front-wheel-drive model producing around 150bhp, and a more powerful e-AWD version with a rear electric motor adding all-wheel drive and roughly 175bhp. Both pair a turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine with a small electric battery and automatic gearbox, giving a smooth, easy driving experience with a genuine hybrid boost.
It's a self-charging hybrid rather than a plug-in — the battery tops itself up as you drive, so there's nothing to plug in. It can run on electric power alone for short stretches, which is handy for quiet, low-speed driving around town.
The Seltos sits just below the Sportage in Kia's SUV line-up, similar in size to the Kia Niro. If boot space and outright interior room are a priority, the Sportage may suit you better, but the Seltos holds its own on comfort, technology, and value — our team can talk you through both side by side.
