Meet the new BMW F 450 R

BMW Motorrad is introducing a new lightweight naked bike designed to bring an engaging riding experience to a new generation of riders. The BMW F 450 R combines a compact two-cylinder engine, agile handling and accessible ergonomics with the performance required for the A2 licence class.

With an output of 35 kW (48 hp) and maximum torque of 43 Nm, the F 450 R has been developed to deliver plenty of usable performance while remaining approachable for both newer and more experienced riders. At just 175 kg road-ready, its low weight also plays a key role in its agile character.

Designed for everyday riding

The F 450 R isn't just about performance. Its 14-litre fuel tank and claimed fuel consumption of 3.8 l/100 km give it a range of more than 350 km, making it well suited to everything from the daily commute to longer weekend rides.

One of its standout features is the Easy Ride Clutch, which works in combination with BMW Shift Assistant Pro. It means the rider doesn't need to operate the clutch lever when moving off, stopping or changing gear, which can be particularly useful in busy urban traffic. The conventional clutch lever remains in place and can still be used whenever required.

A comfortable fit for different riders

The BMW F 450 R has also been designed with accessibility in mind. Three seat heights are available: 775 mm with the low seat, 790 mm as standard and 810 mm with the high seat.

The slim profile beneath the seat makes it easier for riders to reach the ground, while the choice of seat heights means the F 450 R can be adapted to suit a wide range of rider heights.

A2 licence ready

With its 35 kW (48 hp) output, the BMW F 450 R meets the requirements of the European A2 motorcycle licence class, making it an appealing option for riders looking to step into the world of motorcycling or move up to a lightweight, modern naked bike.

The result is a motorcycle that combines accessible performance, low weight and everyday practicality with the technology and character you'd expect from BMW Motorrad.
