We’re delighted to share the news that the Halliwell Jones BMW Junior Golf Academy has flourished in 2025, with even more opportunities to support and inspire young golfers across the North West and North Wales.
Our Academy already works closely with Warrington Golf Club, Holywell Golf Club and Styal Golf Juniors, and this year we’re thrilled to welcome on board Eaton Golf Club!
With the funding provided we’re creating fantastic experiences for juniors at every stage of their golfing journey, whether they’re just picking up a club for the first time or competing at a high level.
Eaton Golf Club – Welcome to the Academy!
Eaton have exciting plans to grow their junior section, and Halliwell Jones BMW support will help bring these to life:
- Improved Coaching: From September 2025, a new PGA-qualified junior coach will join the team alongside Graham Roberts, offering more structured weekly coaching sessions.
- Junior Championship: From 2026, the competition will proudly be known as the Eaton Golf Club Halliwell Jones BMW Junior Championship, with fantastic prizes on offer – including a free membership for the best Nett score winner.
- Team Kit: Juniors representing Eaton in local leagues will soon be playing in smart BMW-branded team shirts.
- Scholarship Scheme: With the additional funding, Eaton will expand its scholarships to give even more promising young golfers the chance to shine.
Warrington Golf Club
At Warrington, the focus is on keeping juniors engaged and rewarding their hard work:
- Continued sponsorship of the Senior/Junior Competition and weekly holiday events, with BMW-branded prizes to celebrate success.
- Junior 6’s Competitions will return this summer – fun, family-friendly events with prizes and refreshments for everyone involved.
- A BMW Junior Scholarship Membership will be awarded to one outstanding junior, recognising effort, improvement, and sportsmanship.
- Members of the Halliwell Jones BMW Knockout Team will benefit from structured lessons to help them reach their full potential in competitive play.
Holywell Golf Club
Holywell continues to make brilliant progress with their juniors, with a real focus on individual coaching and fun competitions:
- 12 juniors with handicaps are receiving one-to-one lessons with club pro Lewis Johnson – an invaluable opportunity to take their game to the next level.
- The Junior Open was a huge success, attracting players from across the region and showcasing the popular Halliwell Jones BMW Silver Academy Course.
- Holywell’s juniors are excelling in the Wales Golf Sixes League, sitting top of the table ahead of their home fixture on the BMW Academy Course later this month.
Styal Junior Golf
Styal’s junior programme is packed with activity, giving every young golfer something to enjoy:
- Coach Development: Luca is training as an England Community Golf Instructor, adding extra coaching support for the juniors.
- Girls’ Golf Days return this summer with two fun-filled events for both beginners and more experienced players.
- The Order of Merit and BMW Junior Matchplay Championship are back, giving plenty of opportunities for competitive golf, with the exciting Race to Dunham finale for the top players.
- Juniors also enjoy regular events like Ivan’s Tuesday Challenge, Par 3 competitions, and the much-loved Junior Ryder Cup, complete with BMW team shirts, prizes and medals.
Looking Ahead
It’s been fantastic to support all four clubs and see the amazing range of activities on offer for juniors. Each club has its own way of developing young golfers, but the passion, enthusiasm and commitment is the same everywhere – helping juniors enjoy the game, improve their skills and make friends along the way.
